Body balancing. Obtaining health and wellness.

In order to balance one's body you have to concentrate solely on your body and its movements. Life and all your worries of the day must leave your mind. (If possible).

One of the first steps in accomplishing this goal is relaxation. Release and relax your body, feel the tension leave your muscles as they elongate and become more responsive. When your body is relaxed it becomes more in tune with itself.

The second step and I believe the most important step is breathing. When I say breathing I mean controlled breathing. Normally, we  breathe  without thinking but what I mean by breathing is to concentrate on what you are actually doing. When you inhale, picture the air entering through your nose, going up into your brain and traveling all the way down to your spine. Upon exhaling, you are breathing out through your abdomen, up through your chest and finally out through your nose/mouth.

Its similar to a cycle. In through the back and out through the front. Have you ever meditated? The basic principle in meditation is controlled deep breathing. This not only cleanses your body by excreting impurities that lay in the base of your lungs ( stale air),but also utilizes oxygen transport to all cells of the body. It oxygenates your tissues making them strong and efficient. Also, breathing in this controlled manner fills your lungs from the base to the apex (top) and empties them in the same proper manner for maximum utilization of oxygen transport  throughout your system.

When performing this type of deep breathing, and concentrating on the proper inhale and exhale, your mind will become so centered on the proper breathing patterns that it will become blank . Remember, the whole purpose is to clear your mind of silly thoughts and concentrate on the body.If performed correctly, a powerful cleansing cycle will occur! One note, please don't force air in deliberately, let it flow smoothly and slowly until the lungs are full, then completely emptied.

After practice it will become second nature and you will be able to release and relax yourself at will. Try practicing sitting or standing in a comfortable position. Breathe in and out in 5 min. intervals. It takes practice so take your time and do it correctly. Remember, always consult a professional when trying a new exercise or routine. Thanx and enjoy life everyday. Be well and smile.         Stephen V.
